About

“I see and feel the world as colour: music, numbers, people, places - I capture the mood and colour I feel the world as”

Kroma (also known as Klara) is a Sheffield based artist from Poland, specialising in expressionist botanical art. Blending emotion with colour, Klara transforms her vision and emotion of the world into colourful botanical paintings, capturing mood and atmosphere through colour and composition. Her work explores themes of change, somber, maturing, simplicity, childhood memories and more - reflecting most prominent states in her life currently, as she learns how to navigate a life as an adult and everything that brings for a 23 year old. Klara is completely self taught, teaching herself by observing the art of creatives she finds exciting and taking those parts into her art.

She draws inspiration from her everyday life, her synesthesia acting as her compass, drawing her attention to the things that make her feel especially alive. Sometimes, this comes to her as a feeling of glitter, or a tight halo around her head. Klara takes further inspiration from botanical masters of the Dutch Golden Age, Florilegiums and botanical illustrations of the 16th century.
