About
I got greeted by this view of Warsaw this summer, when I caught a train to see my family in Poland. This is the view of Warsaw from the main train station. The initial blurred photo was taken by accident. I didn’t realise how many colours were hidden in the initially very navy view, and that made me very happy and curious. I always loved a night scene in paintings, in films, in photography - the neon lights contrasting the dark city. Always reminded me as a kid that there’s a larger world out there, where people are even more alive. Everything felt more alive with those neon lights.
But now that I’m older, and whilst the city still excites me, the drive away from the city into the quiet towns of Kolo were equally exciting. The quiet from the forever moving and demanding city into the fields on forever nothing, and the woodlands. I could only see one street light every once in a while. The visually quieting scene until the only neon lights were the headlights of my grandads car.
